Some employers require an Employee ID to verify SmartDollar eligibility. For your protection, SmartDollar checks this ID during sign-up so only you can redeem your benefit.
You may see this error if the Employee ID is already connected to an account or if the ID doesn’t match your employer’s eligibility file.
Why you may see this error
There are two common reasons this error may appear.
Already in use
You may have signed up for SmartDollar in the past and used a different email address.
If the email address you just tried didn’t work, try signing in with any other email addresses you may have used.
Invalid
Your Employee ID may not match your employer’s eligibility file.
This can happen if:
- The Employee ID was entered in the wrong format, such as missing uppercase letters, extra spaces, or the wrong number of digits.
- You’re a new hire and your HR team needs more time to add your information.
- There was a typo when your information was added.
- Your information was accidentally left off the file.
- Your company’s eligibility file needs to be updated.
- Another employee has similar information on file.
What to do next
- Confirm the exact Employee ID or employee information required for enrollment.
- Contact your HR or benefits team.
- Ask them to confirm that your name is on the SmartDollar eligibility list.
- Try signing up again once your information has been confirmed or updated.
