Your SmartDollar benefit includes access to EveryDollar, where you can create and manage your monthly budget.
If you need to start over for a particular month, EveryDollar includes a Reset Budget option. While you can't delete a budget month or perform a hard reset, you can quickly reset your current month's budget using one of the available reset options.
Before you reset your budget
Before resetting your budget, here are a few things to know:
- Resetting your budget cannot be undone.
- EveryDollar does not allow you to delete a budget month once it has been created.
- EveryDollar does not offer a hard reset option for a budget month.
- If you create a future month’s budget, changes made to the current month will not automatically copy over.
- New groups, categories, or budget items added to the current month will not automatically appear in a future month that was already created.
For this reason, you may not want to start future budgets too far in advance.
How to reset your budget
- Open the budget month you want to reset in EveryDollar.
- Click Reset Budget at the bottom left of your budget.
- Choose one of the available reset options:
- Make all of your Planned amounts $0.00
- Replace this month’s budget with last month’s budget
- Click the blue Reset button on the option you want to use.
Once you click Reset, the change is complete.
Reset options
You’ll see two ways to reset your budget in EveryDollar:
Make all Planned amounts $0.00
This option resets your Planned amounts to zero for the selected month.
Replace this month’s budget with last month’s budget
This option replaces the current month’s budget with the previous month’s budget.
Starting completely over
If you'd like a completely fresh start in EveryDollar, there's no way to erase your budgeting history within an existing account. Instead, you can create a new EveryDollar account using a different email address.
If you're using EveryDollar through your SmartDollar benefit, keep in mind that creating a new account means your previous budget history won't carry over to the new account.
